Hello Noggin I am 99% that this is my aunt Sarah, I am the son of Kathleen a sister of Sarah we lost contact with the family sometime around 1970 1977, I'm almost certain Sarah passed away in March 1973 and Kathleen(my mother) passed away in March 1978, they were a very close family and did keep in contact. at this moment I am trying to complete my family tree, I am totally new to this and expect to make mistakes along the way, from the information I have and your reply I expect I have got this part correct, Thank you for the prompt reply with assistance like this, it will make my research so pleasing

Hello Noggin, first of all thank you for the wonderful information regarding Sarah, I am totally lost as to when Sarah went to the USA, from my memory (I?m now 70 years) I remember as a young boy here in Dublin, my mother receiving parcels of clothing from aunt Sarah, also I have a unclear memory of my aunts and uncles saying that Sarah was very young when she left Dublin for the USA, at that time Ireland was under British rule and it was said that Sarah was a member of Cumann na mBan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, and was a messenger taking messages to the IRA fighting against the British and had to leave Ireland as a result, this I can not confirm. Her brother Dan did go on to join the IRA, I remember he had a military funeral.

Noggin what can I say to you, have to thank you so much for the latest information you have posted for me, this post has brought so much back to me, I was born in Dublin Ireland in 1944 and in 1946 my older brother Gerard was tragically killed outside our home in Meath street Dublin, after the sad event we moved from Dublin to a Village in County Kildare and that village was named Kilteel the photo of Sarah and Sister Connie was taken in that village, I am not sure how long we stayed in Kilteel (possible to around 1950 1952,I do remember Sarah and Connie calling to see my mother and I remember Sarah would stay with her sister Connie in Dublin.
