Thanks, I have the correct information. Just double checking that my info is correct.
I have some information on John Kenyon which you might find useful. The table below which didn't cut and paste well has the names and dates of birth of all their children.
We know little about John but there are several rumours and speculations. Most sources have him born in northern Ireland in 1774 at ?Cal which is supported by the 1851 census at Kirkinner which has him listed as Irish born. He married Isobel Garroch (Garrick?) on the 31st of August 1993. When his son John was born in Knockeffrig, John senior was recorded to be a weaver. Around the same time records show a ‘William Kenyon and his wife Ann Cutcheon were producing a family at Balfern in the parish of Kirkinner. There must be a good chance that he was a brother of John Kenyon.’ (AB) Dick Kenyon also spoke about 2 brothers going to Wigtownshire. William Kenyon and Ann Cutcheon had 3 children – Robert Clelland (b 10.7.1807) an unnamed daughter on 1.8.1809 and Ann born on 6.8.1811. Where he came from in Ireland and whether William Kenyon is his brother or a close relative is so far unknown.
Irish Connection – ‘In October 1996 I received a letter from Miss Josephine Brown whose great great grandparents were James Kenyon and Elizabeth Hood who were married in Whithorn in 1841. Nina Tooth had contacted them We cannot at present connect them with our own line of Kenyons but the most interesting thing was that Ms Brown had evidence that James Kenyon was born ca 1802 in County Down, Northern Ireland. James died at Gatehouse of the Fleet, Kirkcudbrightshire, in 1879 but, by that time, his four surviving children had moved to Workington in the north of England. The 1841 census records a Peter Kenyon in Stranraer and a Thomas Kinyan in Wigtown, both shown as being born in Ireland. So we now know of five “Kenyon” men who may all have been born in Ireland and then moved to Wigtownshire where they each married a local girl. It seems reasonable to suspect that there is some connection between them.” [AB]
John and Isabella had 11 children.

I am related down through Hugh's brother William. Both he and Thomas had come out to NZ with Hugh and then moved over to Australia. Do you know the dates of when they left Scotland and the name of the ship they travelled on? Thanks
Maggie Kenyon (Australia)
thank you for all your input Maggie
I am a descendant of John and Isabella Kenyon through their son William who was married to Mary Ann Patterson. I have been researching this family since the 1980's but have never been able to go any further back on John Kenyon's side. Maggie Kenyon's comments are very interesting about John having brothers in the district and I look forward to researching this. Can anyone tell me where the middle name of Broadfoot fits into our family tree? Is this on the Garroch side? If anyone has any further information I would greatly appreciate it they could keep me in the look too. I am happy to share information that I have with anyone too.
Rhonda Blakie (nee Kenyon)
