Dear Sparkles, Hi there. Welcome to FamilyTreeCircles. With genealogy, we generally start with ourselves and work backwards to create our family trees.

And basically it is a good idea to protect the privacy of the living on the internet. Have a read of If Miss Manners did Genealogy

And goto FamilySearch.org and read HOW DO I GET STARTED? etc.

**************

Meanwhile, I was able to freely search for the marriage of your grandparents online.

MARRIAGE
Christopher George DAW married 1949 at Bankstown NSW Australia to Hazel Jean WATSON.

NSW Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages

If your grandparents are still living, ask them as many questions as you possibly can. Bring a recorder, and notebook/s pen/pencil. See also if other family members have birth, death and marriage certificates that you can get your hands on or even photocopy. This will keep your costs down.

Search here on familytreecircles in the top right-hand corner for 'free', 'freebies' and 'newbies' to see journals I have written etc.

And keep reading other people's journals to get the general idea.

Kind regards and best of luck in this rewarding hobby.

Ok, click on DAW above to see lots of information available on the internet about this surname worldwide. Especially see last link re 16th Century families.

Note: DAW could also be a Cornish surname. See Cornish Association of Victoria, Australia
