Looking for descendents of John Jarvis BROWN, Tasmania

Journal by Jules68

My Great Grandmother Alice Adelaide DULSTONE married a gentleman by the name of John Jarvis BROWN in Hobart, Tasmania in 1905.

I would like to get in contact with any descendents of this man. He had siblings: Lilian, William, Selina, James, Leonard, Edna and Ivy. Ivy possibly married a Patrick SAVAGE. John's parents were John BROWN and Margaret JARVIS.

John Jarvis BROWN was born in 1884 and died in 1942.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Jules, Hi there. Tip: Join up as a member of RootsChat.com and goto their 'Emigrants to Australia' childboard. There should be rootschatters who have the old Pioneers indexes on cd-rom and will no doubt be most happy to do lookups for you.

With a surname like BROWN you will have to be careful you don't accidentally research the wrong family. Try and find his parents names. Sometimes if we research the wife's maiden name we find other family members.

Good luck,
EDITOR.

Hi Alison

I do have John Brown's parent's names. They are listed in my message.

I have been into the Newcastle Library who have a Tasmanian Index and looked up some information. It was how I found that my Great Grandmother had married John Jarvis Brown. He is not my Great Grandfather. She seems to have been married at least twice.

Best regards
Julie
