Hello bradrow,

I will add a bit of info here so other readers may benefit and perhaps help you find your great uncle George and his children

The New Zealand Expeditionary Force was the title of the military forces sent from New Zealand to fight for Britain during World War I and World War II. Ultimately, the NZEF of World War I was known as the First New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The NZEF of World War II was known as the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force.

George Charlton HICK (1887-1951) served with the NZEF, 40th Reinforcements B Company, as Private 79055. They left Wellington on 1 July 1918 on the HMNZT 107, the 'Taiti', destination Plymouth, England. His NEXT OF KIN was his father, G. Hick, of 68 Balmangate, Guisboro, Yorkshire, England

The Cenotaph notes that in 1918 George was a 'Factory Hand'
In 1951 his occupation was listed as 'Government Missing' (?)

As bradrow says, he married Beatrice Alice WANT in 1922

George died in August 1951 and is buried in PLOT 30 V/3 - SECTION SOLDIERS at Karori Cemetery, Wellington

Beatrice Alice Want was born on 25 July 1883, unknown where
- she died in 1975

hoping this will jog someones memory ..
