Looking for info. mother of: Della Mae Roberts Smith b. 1895, d. 1974 Hall Co.,Georgia

Query by BOGagape

Would like to find information on ggrandmother Della's mother's family. I do not know her name for certain. I think I was told it was: Chloe Cooper. She was married to James Mark Roberts - she died when a buggy capsized in a swollen river with her small baby daughter, Cora.

James Roberts b. 1859 d. 1933 buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morrow, Ga. (Della's father) was a musician. His best friend, Melvin Fletcher Smith married my ggrandmother at age 13. It's a big mystery. She lived in Georgia all her life, born in Hall Co.,lived in Atlanta, Clayton County is where she died. The only other info. I know is that James had a brother, Robert (Bob) Roberts found dead by a railroad track. My ggrandmothers family all lived in Hall Co., Ga.

James brothers: Early & Robert, 1- sister (name unknown).

If anyone knows of the incident where my ggg grandmother lost her life with baby Cora, would you please respond? I need to know who James parents were too. My gg grandmother never knew, though she desperately wanted to know. James would not discuss his family. The only reason she knew of Early, is because she remembered playing with his son, Early and Uncle Early.

Thanks!
