tekweni- hello - I have come up with an ancestral line which sounds like your ancestors which started in Germany and went to south Africa . I was lucky that I remembered that " Reyneke "was a germaman name as i had come across it before in one of my searches . I have the following which could be correct .I have no proof or back up .I went on net and asked the name in south africa. It is as follows
You have ' Jacobus Cornelius Reyneke -b- 1832 m Charlotte Nathan etc

his father
Petrus Albertus Reyneke - b-18th Nov 1801 -Uitenhage SA
( m ) Johanna Jacoba Potgieter ( I think in Germany ???? )

G father-
Adam Johannes Reyneke -b-26th Dec 1757 - Stellenbosch SA
( m ) Maria Magdalena Pieterse - 20th April 1783 ( same place

GG Father
Adam Reyneke - b- 1730 Berlin ( couldn't find an actual date )
( m ) Elizabeth Piek - 21st feb 1750 ?? might be 1749 ??( not sure

I was all over south africa & Germany trying to put this together and as i said before I am not sure it is correct as I have no proof .
I think it is your ancestry ( ??? ) I hope so if not throw it in the rubbish bag . I hope this assist you - Regards - Edmondsallan

Thanks so much for this....it looks very promising; with your help I have found my progenitor...Adam Reyneke, Berlin 1730....and then there are all the other marriages along the way to explore.
