Looking for info on John Emmett Henry, 1818-1900, Emanuel County, Georgia

Query by Scooter0518

I am looking for any information on the family of John Emmett Henry. This is what I have so far:

Born May 18, 1818. Died February 8, 1900 in Emanuel County, Georgia

He married Martha Bowen (born abt 1827, died Feb. 1862). They had 5 children -
Alexander Stephen Henry
Laura Henry
John L. Henry
James Lewis Henry
Nathaniel Thaddeus "Tobe" Henry

Martha died either during or shortly after the birth of Nathaniel in February 1862.

On May 11, 1862, John married Rachel Branch, daughter of David Branch and Charity Hagen/Hagan Branch.
Rachel brought two daughters to the marriage, Nancy and Annie Eliza. Both girls were illegitimate.

John and Rachel had 2 children -
Tabitha "Dule Henry
Francis Marion "Buddy" Henry

In 1850, He lived in Randolph County, GA
In 1860, he lived in Laurens County, GA
In 1870, he lived in Montgomery County, GA
In 1880, he lived in Emanuel County, GA

The 1880 census list his parents places of birth as:
Father's birthplace: Virginia Mother's birthplace: South Carolina

I have lots of info on him and his decendants, but NOTHING on his place of birth or any family.

John Emmett Henry is my GGG Grandfather. His son, Alexander Stephen Henry, married Nancy Branch, the daughter of his 2nd wife Rachel. Alexander and Nancy are my GG Grandparents.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as he has been my BRICK WALL for several years.
Thank you!
