Just joined to find info on Thomas Roads MERRY family from Buckinghamshire, England as I am a descendant who grew up in the Ashford & Inverell district of NSW.

I am a MERRY, MOST, ROADS and VOSS descendant. There are heaps of us online at Geni. Send me a personal message with your email address and I'll invite you electronically to the tree. We have a large photo collection (some not yet identified) which came out of a family reunion in 2006 at Bribie Island. There's a 'Back to Ashford' section at Facebook that a MARCHANT/MERRY descendant has created. There was a reunion in Easter of this year.

Thomas Roads MERRY & Kitty SEAR were my 3g grandparents.
Their youngest son Arthur emigrated to Australia with his brother William and they both married COLLINS' sisters. After Arthur's first wife died he married Louisa MOST.
Their daughter Elsie maried Harry VOSS, and their eldest daughter Ethel was my grandmother.

Are you Leonard's line?

Descendants appear to be in NSW however we are in QLD.

I am from the Thomas Roads Merry tree on Williams side his daughter Annie was my grandmother. I use to be in contact with Alison and went to the Reunion at Bridie Island did not relies it was that long a go.

I am Matthew James Byrnes, son of Vincent Andrew Byrnes b. 1928 inverell nsw, who was son of Rosie Francis merry and Edmund David Byrnes m. In Texas qld in 1911. Rosie merry was born in ashford nsw and was the daughter of William roads merry and Annie Collins. The merry family history is on Mundia website.

Also, Edmund David Byrnes was a direct descendant of Andrew bent, the convict and printer who was was born in 1790, convicted of burglary around 1810, transported to Tasmania, became the government printer, fought for press freedom against governor arthur, prosecuted for libel by governor Arthur, married Mary Kirk/Browne a Irish convict woman from Dublin, moved to NSw, tried businesses near kempsey, died in poverty in Sydney. One of Andrew bents sons was Edmund bent, his daughter Mary bent was the mother of Edmund David Byrnes b. c. 1888 or 1890 in ballandean qld near stanthorpe. The father of Edmund Byrnes was a Patrick Byrne/Byrnes who was apparently the son of Edward Riley Byrne/Byrnes who came to Australia from bantry bay Ireland mid 19th century. Any information on the Byrnes/Byrne ancestry would be appreciated as it is very unclear.
