WALKER, William and Maryann of Austin Texas in 1880's

Journal by punkyanne

I am researching my Walker family line, with my gr. grandfathher, William and wife MaryAnn (Bunting) Walker from Bury, England. Came to America with children Fanny Jesse and Jes Walker in 1870 to New York. Settled in Austin Texas where William was a master stone mason. In William's will there was a minor child named Tom who was likely born in America in 1874. I would like more information on William and Maryann and on this son, Tom. They are buried in Oakwood City Cemetery in Austin. Jes Walker was my grandfather who married ? in Texas and left, divorced?, his family with young children to bcame a Chicago fireman. He remarried Lillian Johnson and had four more children in Chicago in the early 1900's. His son, Spencer Warner Walker was my father. I would appreciate any details you may have on my Walker family. Thank you.

Thank you very much for all the information. Now I need to find out what happened to all the siblings of William (John, Joseph and MaryAnn). The daughter Amy of William Jr.and Maryann(daughter-in-law) must have died (she was not listed on the ship with siblings Jes and Fanny when they came to America). Again thank you.

I think Anny may have been Fanny but of course that is just an assumption, do you know when Fanny was born as that would probably answer the question. I will try and do some research on the siblings for you over the weekend

Thanks again....from the findings I have, William and MaryAnn had Amy b.1860 d.1865, William b.1864, Jes b.1865 d.1935, Fanny b.1868 d.1829 and Tom b.1874 (not sure about Tom. I have some information on my grandfather Jes who married Lillian Johnson (his 2nd marriage) and his sister Fanny (who married William James in Texas.) It's difficult to research Walker and Johnson names!!!
