Dear Shannyn, Welcome.

Not sure if this is your family, but I found at the NSW Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages online that Joseph MCSWEENEY married Fanny DWYER at Lismore, New South Wales, Australia in 1916 (Marriage Registration No.15435/1916). Purchase their marriage certificate securely online to give you more clues to tracing your genealogy.

There's two possible death records of a Fanny MCSWEENEY: (1) Fanny MCSWEENEY died in 1962 at Lismore NSW (daughter of Archibald & Fanny); and (2) Fanny MCSWEENEY died in 1927 at Newcastle NSW (daughter of Thomas and Sullivan (? - must be maiden name of mother).

EDITOR (Qld).

Thanks Alleycat. The information I have is that Fanny was a Campbell. However, she had been married previously so maybe Dwyer was her married name. My Grandmother was Joe and Fanny's eldest child and she was born in 1912. Joe went to the war around 1916. This is a good start. Thanks.

Hi Shannyn, I did another search of the NSW bdms and there is one marriage of a Fanny CAMPBELL in 1890 at Ballina NSW to a chap named Edmund DWYER, marriage registration no.2092/1890.

Thanks Alleycat. I spoke with my aunt who knows of some Dwyers who are relatives. According to notes from my grandmother, Fanny had 9 children to her first husband. You set me on the right track. Thank you.

Fanny was my great grandmother. I have wriiten a complete history of her family from the time her ancesters left Ireland to 2011. If you would like any of this I can give it to you. Fanny was known as Dally by her family. I remember her well from when I was a small child. I have many marriage, death, birth certificates from her family.

Hi there, this is interesting - Dally was my great grandmother too. My grandmother was Iris Felsch. I would love to read your family history. It sounds like you have a wealth of information about the McSweenys. My email address is crescentmoontherapies@bigpond.com
