Looking for James Grosvenor born 1892 England

Journal by julieuni

James Grosvenor married Miriam Rowley (?) in 1921 in England. I am trying to trace the family ancestors back from then. James had 6 siblings - Alice, Maude,Emmie,Sadie,Nancy and William. The area where I think they lived may have been Dudley, Birmingham, Tipton.

Dear julie,

Free BMD search

I think I've found their marriage for you...

Surname First name(s) Spouse District Vol Page
Marriages Mar 1921 (82%)
Grosvenor James Rowley Dudley 6b 1968 Scan available - click to view

Do the same search but look for births for James Grosvenor between 1891 and 1893 and there is one probable born Sept 1892 in the District of Dudley which is the same location as the marriage above, spanning the boundaries of Staffordshire and Worcestershire.

Perhaps if you register as a new user of RootsChat you may be able to find out more.

I did a search for you at FamilySearch but didn't find your man. Although the GROSVENOR surname seems to back an age to the 14th/15th centuries.

Good luck,
EDITOR.

Thanks for the info and suggestions - I've actually dug out a marriage certificate from my mum's possessions now - my James Grosvenor was born to Margaret Grosvenor (nee Gough) and James Grosvenor on 20/7/1892. (the birth was registered in Sept) Miriam Rowley (James spouse) is actually recorded as Midian she was born 3/5/1898. Her parents were Benjamin Rowley and Amelia Bunn. I will follow up what you have suggested, if you know anything else please don't hesitate... Julie
