Looking for links to "The Lost Colony" - NC - HARDISON

Query by sruland

My mother is a Hardison from the east coast of NC. Hardison is listed as a 'family of interest' in the archives of those researching ancestors of 'The Lost Colony', and I'm trying to see how far back I can research my mother's side of the family. Her father was George Lem Hardison, Jr. and I believe we can be traced back to JASPER HARDISON, as that is a family name, but I cannot find documented evidence to prove this connection. Jasper Hardison's blood line dates back to the 1600's - I'm trying to link back to England, ultimately.

Any help or advise is appreciated. I am a novice, but determined. As a recruiter by professional trade, I'm hoping my search and sourcing skills can be utilized, but am also looking for words of wisdom from those who have come before me in my quest.

Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
