I would like to discover the European ancestry of my grandfather, Peter McKittrick. He was born in Lanark, on Ontario January 7, 1866. He married my grandmother Minnie Gertrude Sterling, born in Augusta, Wisconsin on April 30, 1873. We called my grandmother "Mica."

Alice Irene McKittrick. Born March 14, 1906 at Thorpe, Wisconsin. Married Frank W. Hazel.

What information are you looking for? Was your Grandfather the only one
in the family that moved to Wisconsin and the rest stay in Ontario?

Are you wishing to connect to cousins still in Ontario?

If you are more specific, this will help in you receiving your answers.

Best wishes in your research.

I'm Alice hazel's granddaughter. I think you might be my mom's cousin. She was born Abigail sterling hazel to Alice and frank.

Hello jimc3769. Your Mom (Abby, to my brothers and me) was our favorite cousin. she was lively, fun, and kind. I recall summers in Jaffrey NH at the Hazel house and at Thorndike Pond. I hope your Mom is still alive. It's odd how people grow apart. I escaped from the Midwest in my 20's and have spent all my adult life on the West Coast: Oregon and now Washington.

Hi! My mom Abby Mcgregor is just like her mom Alice in that she is a cool fun grab-life-as-it-comes type of gal. I don't recognize your name from the many jaffrey stories, but it seems to me that there were so many good times, it would take a century to hear them all from mom and aunt Diana. My brother just bought a house on Thorndike for weekends; I haven't been back since grandma Alice passed in 1990...I hope you remember what an awesome woman she was. I am going to call mom tomorrow and relay your kind memories about your youth together. Alice and frank's children (abby and diana), grandchildren (I'm the first grand baby b.1969) and great grandchildren are all doing well in the Boston area.

Hi! My mom Abby has the fondest of memories about you too. I hope you can help us unravel the mystery re: Alice and frank's wedding date. At 18yo Alice was sent to Ruth and harry in Chicago to "calm down". Frank chased her to Chicago and married her. We know no more. We think she was close with Ruth's daughter (trinny,Trebie,Tracy - not sure of name). We wonder if you have any stories about the marriage date/location - Ruth's daughtet would probably know. Thanks! Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
The mystery of Alice's romance is intriguing. Ruth's daughter was/ is Trebie. When I return from a 2 week climbing trip in the Sierras, i will contact Trebie's sister-in-law, with whom i keep in touch. If Trebie is still alive, I will try to see if i can get the 2 of you connected. Also, it would be good to escape from this web site and communicate directly through email.
Gotta go pack now.

Hi tim, I hope you had a great adventure in the sierras! My mom Abby would love to hear from you, as would I. Have you been able to track down any Alice/frank wedding info?
With love from your cousin of some sort,
Jennifer

Hi Tim, did you have any luck tracking down Trebie? Any update on the Alice/frank wedding mystery? I know my mom Abby would enjoy talking to you. Her birthday is November 24; perhaps we could coordinate a call - she remembers you with the fondest memories as well. I look forward to hearing from you, and i hope your Sierra adventure was awesome!
