Welcome Anntessa.

This is how I see your Michael and Mary.

Groom: Michael KEERINS.
Bride: Mary KELLY.
Year married: 1858.
Place: Victoria, Australia.
REF: VMI #634.

Name: Michael CAIRNS.
Died: 1864 Victoria. (Place of death not recorded).
Age: 30 years.
Father: Not recorded.
Mother: Not recorded.
Ref: VDI #2858.

DEATH INQUEST for Michael.

Name: Michael CAIRNS.
Year of death: 1864.
Place of death: Ballarat, Victoria.
Age: Not recorded.
Cause of death: Fractured skull.
Occupation: Miner.
Ref: Victorian inquest #287.

These appear to be Michael and Mary's children.
The spelling of KEERINS changes from the marriage spelling to KERNS and CAIRNS
but I expect it will be the same Michael and Mary. The name KEERINS may have been recorded wrong to start with.

Hi Tonkin,
Yes I have all that, and thank you for your response - it is more where do I start trying to find out about his parents, I do not have a place other than Galway Ireland, and Galway is a big place! Michael was my Great Great Grandfather - we have a few Family History researchers in our family but no one has made any headway - the name "Festy" stumps all of us.
