Looking for Parents of Lucinda Lewis, married John R. Black
John R. Black & Lucinda Lewis married July 1, 1849 in Lawrence County, AL. Their son was John Luther Black and he married
Nancy Ann Johnson.
I'm trying to determine if Lucinda Lewis was of Native American heritage
Nancy Ann Johnson was the daughter of Charles Mullen Johnson and Nancy Suggs. They were married March 18, 1842 in Lawrence County. Everyone called Charles "Mull". After Nancy died, Charles married her sister Frances. I do not know where they married.
I received this information from a distant cousin, Brenda, that still lives in Northern AL.
Ada Smith: dauther of John Luther Black & Nancy Ann Johnson married May 28, 1885 in Lawrence County
John Black: son of John R. Black & Lucinda Lewis married July 1, 1849 in Lawrence County, AL
Nancy Ann Johnson: daughter of Charles Mullen Johnson & Nancy Suggs
Nancy Suggs: daughter of Henry Suggs & Rachel ?
Charles Johnson: son of Isaac Johnson & Eleanor Mullins born in Wayne County, KY.
Isaac Johnson: son of Isaac Johnson & Sarah Garrett
Eleanor Mullins: daughter of Isaac Mullins & Mary Cocke

I am Isaac(2) and Eleanor's ggggranddaughter. I am descended through their son Thomas. Do you have a resource for Isaac Johnson and Sarah Garrett? I've been told that Isaac(2)was their son, but no one has given me any paper proof.
There is a lady in Mercedes, Texas by the name of Martha Mullins Tutt. She wrote a book about Charles Mullins Johnson and his family and may be able to help you find more info on Lucinda Lewis.
Unfortunately, the book is no longer in print, but she's pretty free with her information.
I don't have contact info on her anymore (my computer died!). I found her by accident rooting around on the internet. I was living less than 20 miles from her when I found her!
If you do contact her, please tell her that you have corresponded with Bee about her book and I wish her well.
Thanks and good luck!

Thank you so much for your help!!!!!
I guess we are distant cousins since my ggggg-grandparents were Isaac Johnson and Eleanor Mullins. My relatives still live in the Northern, AL, Lawrence County area, but I live in FL.
I will try to contact Ms. Tutt and/or find her book through E-bay or something. Thanks for the good tip.
