Looking for Rockey's of Devonshire

Query by murdot

My Gt Grandmother, Luffy Jane Rudd ROCKEY, married my Gt Grandfather 8 May 1866 in Christchurch, New Zealand. I believe She came from Devonshire, England and her marriage certificate has her father as Thomas.
I have been unsuccessful learning anything further about her.
Anyone with research on this name would be much appreciated.

was there a dob /age on the marriage cert and did it give her fathers occupation ?

I must apologise. On re-examining the marriage cert' it only has the date and place of the marriage, 8 May 1866 in St Andrew's Church, Christchurch, her name as Luffy Jane Rudd ROCKEY, her age as 21 and that she was a Domestic Servant and Spinster. She married William JOHNSTON, also 21 and a Blacksmith.
Her fathers name comes from the Death Cert' that I have. She died in Auckland 7 October 1922. It says she had been in NZ 50 years from Devonshire, England. It also says she was 68 years old and that her fathers name was Thomas ROCKEY, Farmer.
There is no DOB recorded and no mothers maiden surname.
Her death cert' just has her as Jane Johnston.
I have been unable to find her arriving in NZ on any of the ships records that I have viewed, however I have only viewed a small number to date.
thank you
Murray

Found the marriage record, states her name is LUFTY *

1866/7582 Lufty* Jane Rudd Rockey m William Johnston

According to the above she must have been born in c 1845. There must be a wrong entry on the death or marriage cert because if she had been in NZ for 50 yeras she would have arrived in 1872 and would have been aged 18 ( ie d 1922 age 68 b 1854)

Yes, I guess the "50 years in NZ" was probably more of an off-the-cuff remark made at her death rather than something that could be taken to be an accurate account.
