Looking for Te Ata Ihaia and James McGivern

Query by Caro59

So have come to a brick wall on this line of my family tree.
James McGivern came to New Zealand from Ireland with either the 57th or 68th regiment to fight in the Maori wars.
He decided to stay and married Te Ata Ihaia also known as Mary Bushman.
any help at all would be great.
