Terry Scurlock and Mary Jane Spawr were married 18 Sept 1851 in the town of Benton, Franklin County, Illinois. She was the daughter of George Wsshington Spawr from Westmoreland, Pennsylvania and Rhoda Walden of Kentucky. Terry served in the Civil War, Company "K", 71st Illinois Infantry from July 26 1862 to Oct 29 1862. They had seven children: I'm interested in John Terry Scurlock, the eldest child. The others are George Washington Scurlock; Sarah Kazar SCurlock; Jesse Scurlock; Wesley O. Scurlock (this is my great grandfather and his middle name according to family records is Ozias not Oscar as that is his son's name); Walter Scurlock; and William Scurlock.
