Hello Laurel,

You don't say exactly where in Monmouthshire your Edwards family came from. My mother was an Edwards and her Edwards family were from Caerleon,Monmouthsire. My gr,gr,grandparents were William Edwards c.1830 Christchurch, Caerleon, Mon. and Mary Edwards c.1830 Christchurch, Caerleon, Mon. Mary's maiden name was also Edwards.

My grandfather was William Edwards b.1888 Caerleon and his sister and half brother also emigrated to Elora, Ontario, Canada.

If you think there could be a connection please get in touch with me at laviniahemingway@hotmail.com

Best Wishes, Lavinia

Hi Lavinia
I'm afraid they are not the same family as mine. Mine started back in Llangunllo, and moved to Monmouthshire to work the coal mines around Newport before coming to Canada.
Good luck with your searches,
Laurel
