Main streams of research

Journal by BoyfromtheBog

I am endeavouring to find and record my ancestors from the starting point of my grand-parents and have made some progress despite dealing with what appear to be very common names: Dean, Walker, Evans and Corns. There is a disconnect in the Corns line with an unrecorded paternity at the Wolverhampton work house. The Dean line appears to be focused in the Staffordshire area around the potteries which appear to play a significant role. The Evans line is proving stubborn in giving up its secrets as there appears to be some difficulty from the 1860's and prior. As for Walker, it appears the family were well entrenched in Manchester and Radcliffe throughout the 19th century, although family would have it that the origin of the Walker name lies in the proscription of the Clan MacGregor. If I could find a link to the MacGregor Clan, I would have a rich vein of genealogy to explore. I can only hope.
