- the 5th of 9 children to Reverend Thomas Ratsey MASKEW (1818-1893) & his 2nd of 3 wives, Catherine Ann KEDDLE (1831-1859) of Hampshire & Herefordhire, England
- he was born in Dorchester England and died in Cheviot, Canterbury
- married Emily Gertrude CAVE 1 Oct 1878 St Lukes Christchurch
- they had 5 children:

- died aged 5 months in CHristchurch
1880 - Catherine Emily "Kate" Maskew
- married Frank Henry Cowper in Christchurch

1885 - 1873 Constance Maskew
- married Henry Morrow 1931 at the home of her sister Frances Childs in Donnett Canterbury
- she died in Christchurch
1889 - 1980 Frances Broadley Maskew
- married Frederick Daniel Childs (1888-1970) in Cheviot 1913
- she married Frank Edwin AMOS (1888-1978) in Timaru 1972 when she was 83 and he was 84
- Frank had first married Alice May DAVIS (1885-1969) in 1911

Thomas Stordy Maskew (1891-1872)
- born in Dorchester England
- married Evelyn Mabel TINDER in 1916 in Geraldine, Canterbury
- Thomas was a grandson of the Rev Thomas Ratsey Maskew and his 3rd wife Jane STORDY.
- His father, Francis Ernest Stordy Maskew was a stepbrother of the above Thomas Anthony Browne Maskew. His mother was Marion RAEBURN from Scotland. Francis & Marion were married in Canada in 1890
- he died in Christchurch
