Musaphia family

Journal by Simanda

"Musaphia family: My grandfather Morris (Mossie) Musaphia was born in Spitalfields London in 1920 and went to South Africa as a young boy. I know there are many Musaphias but can't find the link yet? Does any one know where we fit in?"

Can only find 1 Morris Musaphia but he was born in 1910 in Whitechapel, London Quarter 3. He was aged 17 when he sailed to South Africa on 8 September 1927 in the GLOUCESTER CASTLE. There is also only one M Musaphia shown in the 1911 UK census for the correct age and that is Moses, father Aaron mother Leah and 6 siblings of which he was the youngest. If you think this is the correct one let me know and I will give you the census details

PS They were all born in Spitalfields and father was a "Cigar Maker"

Yes, I think this is correct. He was my grandfather. He and another brother that we called Jack changed their name in South Africa to Moss. That was many years later because on my mother,Hilary's, birth certificate the family name was still Musaphia.
