If I knew some names to research backwards I might be able to find him on one of the many rolls that were done with
Cherokees. I have a lot of the books of different families, also check online in the Emmett Starr books.

If I'm not mistaken most Native American tribes are broken up into various bands /clans ... If you could link your Grandfather to a specific band and can obtain a band number you will have your proof... I know for a fact they have band numbers up here in Canada and I'm assuming they have them in the States ...
