I'm looking for the family of Cordell Walker born in 1940 in Oklahoma. He worked in law enforcement in Texas his fathers name was Carlos Ray. Can you help

by edmondsallan on 2011-04-14 16:14:37

I can't assist you at this stage . because the official records we will want are restricted - 100 years from daily date. some times they do release them to relations

by ngairedith on 2011-04-14 18:02:59

I am sure everyone knows that Cordell Walker was a contemporary Texas Ranger, old-fashioned in his method of dealing with criminals.

Cordell Walker is a Dallas Fort Worth-based member of the Texas Rangers Texas Ranger Division.
Walker's parents were killed when he was a little boy and as a result, Walker was raised by his paternal uncle, a Native American named Ray Firewalker (Floyd Red Crow Westerman).
Before joining the Texas Rangers, Cordell served in the Marines and was a kickboxing champion. His partner and best friend is James "Jimmy" Trivette (Clarence Gilyard), a former Dallas Cowboys player "Go Long T" who takes a more modern approach. Walker's young partner grew up in Baltimore and used football as his ticket to college education. He was dropped from the team after he tore up his shoulder in a major game, which led to his career in the Rangers (often making references to watching the "Lone Ranger" and how CD Parker mentored him as a Rookie Officer). Trivette also works inside the office using computers and cellular phones to collate information of the people who've been taken into custody. Walker also works closely (and shares a mutual attraction) with Alexandra "Alex" Cahill (Sheree J. Wilson), a Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney, who on occasion puts up a frown if Walker doesn't obtain results in time. He also gets advice on cases from C.D. Parker (Noble Willingham), a veteran Ranger (later inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame) who worked with Walker until retiring to operate a small restaurant and bar called "CD's Bar and Grill", a restaurant widely known for its chili. Cordell and Alex Cahill eventually get married and have a dughter named, Angela.

Walker, Texas Ranger made famous by Chuck Norris as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker, a modern-day Ranger who believes in the Code of the Old West and is a martial arts expert. He is the show's main protagonist. He is half Native American, half White ...

Their is also some other Texas rangers with simular names on their special police site TX. I wonder if they are related to Cordell Walker ? might be worth a trying to see if any other of your ancesters went into the law business .

You just never can tell. I will do that. Thank you for your research.

Dear ngairedeth, You wrote such an enjoyable biographical piece on Walker. Thank you very much.

by edmondsallan on 2011-04-15 23:06:23

Yes I agree > I think it enhances journals when she adds further comments . This inturn makes it a better ancestry journal for any member to share. I don't mind at all that she assists any of my journals . In fact I appreciate it the same as many others

by 1bobbylee on 2011-04-15 23:24:36

Thanks Edmondsallan. You are a nice person to feel that way. You have got the right spirit. It seems you defintely put our members first. Good man! Keep those journals rolling out! G'nite.

by janilye on 2011-04-15 23:40:28

who's kidding who here. Cordell Walker is an imaginary character--made for tv starring Chuck Norris. If you take the time to read ngairedith's post you would know that.

by edmondsallan on 2011-04-16 00:50:35

Quite right Janilye. The research was not about " Cordell Walker " re TV etc The journal I researched was on " J W Walker " ancestry and family . I think someone may have made a mistake in adding that comment about" cordell ". I am sure " Avongoyamug " knew all about the tv series just like we all did . His query was about
" his family ( Cordells )" not Cordell himself . I hope this clears up this mistake thats drawn a lot of comment .

AVAGOYAMUG asked "I'm looking for the family of Cordell Walker born in 1940 in Oklahoma. He worked in law enforcement in Texas his fathers name was Carlos Ray."

Carlos Ray Norris = 'Chuck' Norris, who was born in OKLAHOMA in 1940
He played the part of Cordell Walker Texas Ranger.

It's obvious AVAGOYAMUG who posed the question knew exactly who he was talking about and after ngairedith posted everyone else should have too.
You only have to look at the id to know he was pulling your leg.
av a go ya mug

excellent --problem solved .of that bit ,which I had nothing to do with

. I researched J W Walker ancestors ( backward to 1760) Which was over a 180 years before 1940 to assist his ancestry . Others members were involved with the 1940 request . It was great to see the interest . Regards to all

by edmondsallan on 2011-04-16 20:32:31

This journal was in response to this query and had nothing to do with the 1940 Query , to all members

Looking for Walker of Texas
Journal by arkman ( 5 days ago )

My Grandad was Noah Cole Walker, born in Bryan, Texas in 1889. He married Birdie Baker. My Father was Noah Cole Walker Jr. He died in 1990. They all lived much of their lives in Orange ,Texas. I'm looking for any information on our ancestors prior to my Grandparents.

by edmondsallan on 2011-04-17 14:59:21

I wonder if the - ID- " arkman " is the same person As "avagoyamug" who's joke backfired on some members ( excluding me ) is the same person . I might look into that
