Hi Elizabeth, Have you found out any more on Edward since posting the above? He was pardoned 17 July 1845 in Hobart.

I will wait to see your updates to save going over same ground

Thank you ngairedith for your response to my post. I have done further research on Edward OLDHAM but do did not have his pardon date. Are you able to tell me where you obtained this? I know he came to the mainland on the ship the Shamrock on June 8th 1846 and resided in Geelong. Therefore, I thought he must have been granted a Ticket of Leave or Pardon around 1845 or 46. Edward remarried on 13 August 1861. His daughter Mary Anne Fay nee Oldham arrived in Australia sometime between around 1855 she named her first child born in Australia Olivia (4 previous children born in England)the name of her fathers second wife. I do wonder how Edward remained in touch with Mary Ann?

Thanks again for your information it is much appreciated.

Cheers,
Elizabeth McEvey

Hello Dean,

Great to read your notice. I do family history for my husband Bernard Ryan. Edward Oldham is Bernard's 3 x ggrandfather as well, on his maternal side.
The path of connection is from Mary Ann Oldham who married John Fay, then their daughter Rose Ann Fay whom married Thomas Robert White, then their son Albert Edward White who was Bernard's grandfather. Edward is very interesting as is the entire family. I have made connections with others in NSW, Australia who are connected via Mary Ann Fay's other children.
I have found Deancaroly brunker family tree backup on Ancestry, but, I cant figure out which line is yours. I use a desktop data base Legacy family tree and I would be only too happy to share what we have. My email is elizabethmcevey@bigpond.com Hope to hear from you. Cheers Elizabeth
