Hi Chris, I am a descendant of Catherine Mary Cantwell (Dorothea's sister and 3rd child). I have some info that Mary Cantwell (nee Egan) died in Tipperary, Ireland in 1844. Therefore Philip must have emigrated alone sometime between 1844 and his death on 19 Nov 1857 in Ballan. I know this is an old post, but I hope it has been of some use, regards Sharyn.

I've just found this site. Wow I am also a descendant of Catherine Mary Cantwell, who is my great grandmother. Her daughter Julia Mary Kate was my grandmother.

I am a descendent of Patrick the brother of Dorothea, who were the children of Phillip Cantwell and his wife Mary Egan.
Phillip and his children arrived in the colony in 1850 . Mary was by then deceased.
