George Carter Geddis is a brother of my g-g-grandmother. Their father (Robert Geddis 1831-) was a farmer at Weedons, near Christchurch, NZ. The farm was called Bloomfields. Their mother was Jane Carter and the parents were married in 1865. Siblings of George Carter Geddis are Robert Henry (1871-) and Thomas (1876-) and Annie Geddis (1869-) who married Joseph Burnett Collie. Robert Henry married in to the Collie family who were grain merchants in Christchurch (Collie Bros) and the father Robert was a partner in this business. Do you know more about the Geddis family?

Hi
My Mother was a Geddis and "GEORGE CARLISLE GEDDIS" was my Grandfather so of course "George Carter Geddis" was my Great Grandfather.
I have a Auntie who I have been told has done research but yet to catch up with her to get more info.
I did find some info on Collie & Geddis business on the PapersPast website (NZ).
Cheers, Bruce
