Hi edmondsallan

Can you tell me where in the 1851 Census did you find John HOLDEN b1851 Guildford Surrey Ive looked and I can't find him anywhere - is he with parents or another family??
I found a birth for a John HOLDEN Dec 1849 in Guildford Surrey but nothing else.

The William John HOLDEN b1885 Guilford is John HOLDEN's son not his brother, John HOLDEN, William Johns's father was born in Staverton Northhampton it's on 1891 Census.

Hi you need to go to - Familysearch .org . -- Go to their new search site . You'll find it at the top of the Opening Page ,.Click on pilot search when that window opens at the top is a brownish red oblong Which says " try It" click on it . when if opens wait a few seconds till advance search shows up about 1/2 way down Click on it Make sure you get the advance search with the little boxes . cause you want to tick them what ever you put in which locks it on what you put in . You can us this advanced window many ways , Just a name - nothing else and several other ways - experiment and you will see what i mean . You can get any country in the world in place section When the name shows up before you scroll down you can see the nunber of items to be looked at. All that info came from that site . I use it cconstantly now and go back to the opening part only if I want to do it different - good luck - Regards
