Re Searching the Surname Hancock from Pembrokeshire Wales

I would like to know more abouth the name hancock in wales? How far back in wales does it go and I know the name hancock as being enlish but was it also welsh very far back and if so where in wales did it origanally come from

Dear KarenJames, I too am looking at Hancock in Pembroke Dock, but find that you MUST look at the alternate spellings. My ancestors are HANKCOCK, (male line originating from Cornwall) and have variously been spelt as Hancock, Hankcock, Hankock and Handcock. The females come from the Vittle line, which again has misspellings of Vettle and Vittal Hope this helps,Jonalex
