Hi Janilye
These were my wifes aunties, believed to have emigrated to sth africa and became
dancers, but have not been able to find any trace of them.
Regards Ghewla
Ohhhh how interesting. Now I'm thinking of Walsh & Walsh billed as the Upside-down dancers but I don't know whether they were two girls or not. They were around during the first world war.
Anyway back to your girls. Do you know if they dancers here before they left? Do you know if they were classical dancers?
May, I suppose would have been at least 18 when they left, that would make florence
23. I'm assuming they didn't go there to learn to dance but might have been part of some dance Company. Two young women back then would not have left without having somewhere to go.
I'll have a look at around from 1902 and get back to you if I find anything.

Hello ghewla, Do you mean these two?
