Researching the Shepherd Family Tree

Journal by alexashep

Hi

I'm trying to build a family tree for my husband's family. Surname is Shepherd. Grandfather was Leonard Joseph Shepherd (deceased)originally of Bolton, Lancashire. Married to Nora Mabel (nee Lawrence) of the Swindon area.

Their children are Anthony (Tony), Terence (Terry), Nancy and Christopher Shepherd. All now in the Warwickshire area.

I would appreciate any family history about Leonard Joseph Shepherd and his ancestors.

This is the only Leonard Shepherd birth I Could find born Bolton

England & Wales, Birth Index, 1916-2005
Name: Leonard Shepherd
Mother's Maiden Surname: Allinson
Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1927
Registration district: Bolton

Do you know if his mother's maiden name was Allinson ?

Do you have the marriage cert if so what was Leonard and Norah,s fathers names and their occupations. If not to start going back you will need the marriage cert.

This is the only birth I could find for Norah M Lawrence born Swindon

England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915
Name: Norah M Lawrence
Mother's Maiden Name: Webb
Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1913
Registration district: Swindon
Inferred County: Wiltshire
Volume: 5a
Page: 22

If the two births are right it would be best to get them because they will show both parents names

Once you have them you can either research yourself or post a request for help here.
