Thanks for your input and I think it is great advice. I have done this and have found extensive Fountain family information that goes back 14 generations from me. This information is quite extended and includes many family branches and their spouses family as well (where possible). I have linked about 1600 people to my Family tree. Trouble is that i'm trying to 'flesh-out' the basic birth/death/marriage/census information to make the people on the tree 'real'.
I thought a question regarding my last English born and died GG grandparent might just contact some English relatives as The Family seemed to 'vanish' from their ancestral home of Lincolnshire. Where they went to is difficult to trace. I was hoping that Richard Fountain and his father Anthony might be familiar to other family members still residing in England (or elsewhere) and new contacts could be made.
As I am new to familytreecircles do you think I am trying for the impossible? I would dearly like to contact other 'Fountains' that may be linked to me and fill in the gaps where privacy laws 'screen' relatively new information.
Thanks very much for your help and advice. I would really appreciate research tips though as I find the 'tyranny of distance' a bit of a barrier (England/Australia) to accessing first hand information as well as the cost of purchasing all the records. I have accessed IGI records which are relatively cheap but the time frame is quite long ( 3 months).
Are you a Fountain ancestor? If so, where do we 'meet' on the family tree?
I really hope to talk again soon and look forward for guidance,
