Richard Jenkins

Glenhaven, New South Wales, Australia

I am a 62 year old Australian Male with mixed heritage from the British Isles. My Fathers side comes from England and my Mothers side comes from Ireland. I know (anecdotely) that other members of both sides of my family have done some research into our family history. Unfortunatley, I do not know where that information is now or how accurate it was when it was compiled. I would like to know if any one who reads this has any information regarding either the Jenkins family from England or the Brophy Family from Ireland. The tree that I have started on Ancestry.com is very sketchy at this stage and I am very inexperienced at this fascinating task. My tree is open to the public and I would appreciate any feed back that anyone has about any of the family members I have listed. Some of them could be part of your own tree! I have copied information from other trees, where I have found more details than I have had for the same person. I have also endeavoured to verify the listings by checking with the Birth Deaths & Marriages office site. But to attest to its over all accuracy, I would need a crystal ball! Since starting this tree, I have found many ancestors on both sides of my parents family with many different surnames (You start thinking, 'Crikey I must be related to almost everyone!')
Anyone who may know something of the lineage of the Brophys of Mudgee, starting from Michael Brophy who arrived here in the early 1800,s as free setler/Farmer/labourer. I believe his fathers name was Patrick and his mother was Mary Cody and he was born in County Kilkenny but lived in county Tipperary before emigrating to Australia.
