Roy W. "Pete" Forester
Roy W. "Pete" Forester, 73, of 344 Ferndale St., Ford City, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 1989, at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Craigsville to Amos Levi and Lissie (Bowser) Forester, as the youngest of 15 grandchildren. Nicknamed "One More Time," he was a lifelong resident of this area and was retired from PPG Industries. He had been a union construction worker. Mr. Forester was a Navy veteran of World War II and he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Kittanning.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ford City and the Construction Union Local 952. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane (Flanders Anthony) Forester; four sons, Roy F. of Mechanicsburg, Thomas L. of Ford City, William J. of Kittanning, and Richard C. of Rochester, N.Y.; two step-sons, Kenneth Anthony of Boiling Springs and Douglas Anthony of Manorville; three daughters, Mrs. Danny (Kay) Young of Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. Larry (Carol) McConnell of Leechburg and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) DeConinck of Rochester, N.Y.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Erdley of Kittanning and Mrs. Lyle (Linda) Anderson of Shelocta; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Reining of Worthington; 14 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Boyer, on April, 1966; six brothers, Jesse, Charles, Archie, William, Herbert, and Ford, and seven sisters, Bertha, Effie, Clara, Lucy, Eva, Frances and Dorothy.
