Sadie Coadner Hanright

Journal by farmrpat

I'm trying to find information on my g-gf's 3rd wife, Sadie Coadner. They married in Nova Scotia in 1890 and returned to Upstate NY where the children by his 1st wife were living. She was supposed to have come from Newfoundland; her parent's names were George and Anne. I haven't been able to find her there. My g-gf died in 1895; 2 months before his last son was born. I found her in Rome, NY in the 1900 Census where she gave a lot of mis-information ie that she was married to a Robert Hanright (my g-gf's last son's name) and had been married to him since 1892 -- NOT TRUE --g-gf was still alive. Sometime after this she left her 2 boys with neighbors and disappeared. The boys grew up in this area and their 1/2 brothers and they all knew each other.

I recently heard from someone tracing their gf who was adopted in Syracuse and they believe that Sadie was the mother and gave him up. This was 1901/2.

I next found Sadie in the 1910 census and she was living in Auburn, NY and now had a daughter, born 1902/3. Since Ancestry has posted a lot of city directories online from back then, I know she was still in Auburn in 1919 working in the Auburn City Hospital as a cook.

I next found her living with her married daughter in the 1930 Census in Massachusetts. I'm waiting for the 1940 census to come out so I can see if she is still there.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone that connects to Sadie Coadner and her line.
