Dear JGH, here's my advice....

Mary Eleanor CARR and Esther Chambers KNIGHT - if you haven't already done so, you can purchase their death certificates from NSW Registry of Births, Deaths, Marriages - Australia. Death certificates usually contain much more information including burial details. When you know where she was buried you can even get a headstone photograph and/or contact the local family history group in the area that she lived.

At this website, 1891 Women's Suffrage Petition, Vic there are 6 search results for Mary SCOTT, and if you know the address of where your ancestor lived, one of these ladies could be yours.

Malcolm CARR - should be found on the 1851 Census aged almost 1yr. Join up as a free user (keep the same username 'JGH' in case anyone wants to find you) of RootsChat. Then post a new topic at the Scotland - Argyllshire board (covering towns Campbeltown, Craignish, Dunoon & Kilmun, Kilmun). RootsChat - Scotland - Argyllshire. Have a read of all the resources/links available. Post a topic subject heading '1851 Census Lookup Request CARR family Campbeltown then include all the known information in the body of your posted topic.

All the children of Mary Eleanor CARR and William SCOTT, check for their births, deaths and who they married in case they were born NSW. If you think they were born in the State of Victoria, goto RootsChat - General - Emigrants - Emigrants to Australia. Post a new topic VIC bdm lookup requests please SCOTT family 1899-1906.

You can try and find all your ancestors arrival details into Australia via the rootschat site or have a look yourself at the National Archives of Australia. Click on Records Search, Search Now As A Guest, etc. Contains a wealth of information, including war service.

Goldmining - do a search on familytreecircles for 'gold' as I'm sure I wrote a journal on goldmining in Australia.

Family History Groups - click on my profile, Country: Australia, and try and look at all the general genealogy links I have provided for each State in Australia.

Let us know what you find out by posting a journal back here on familytreecircles. Remember to list all the surnames your journal is about at the bottom of each journal. That way if another user reads your journal, they can click on the surname they are interested in and goto the surname wiki pages for all the great links pertaining to that surname.

Kind regards,
Alison QLD Australia.
