My great grandfather was John Stalyards Archer. His marriage certificate shows he was born to Mary Moko and John Archer (a sea captain)
in 1840, NZ. Family stories suggest this may have been around the Bay of Islands, and there are other stories about a shipwreck in which
his father died. John Stalyards Archer arrived in NSW in the early 1850's. He married Mary Cameron in Yass, NSW in 1868, and died there in 1901.
