Seeking Parents and Siblings of John Bradford born 1798 in Tennessee

Journal by cjenkns

Searching for siblings and parents of John Bradford who was born in Tennessee in 1798. I do not know what county. He married in Franklin County Indiana in 1817 to Sarah Blades who was born in South Carolina about 1800. They moved to Bartholomew County about 1830 and had their children born there. They are buried in Bartholomew County Indiana.
He is my dead end. Rumor was that he was relation to the Russell and Smith families. There is a David and an Elias Bradford in Bartholomew County Indiana very early but I have not found a connection yet. There is also a Mary Ann Bradford who married a John Russell in Grainger County Tennessee 1800 ---she moved to Franklin County after the Russell died and married again to a Gant. There are Gant's and Russell's living close to John Bradford in Bartholomew County later. Are they his relatives?

Hi Carol, I've been trying to get in touch with you to see if you are still doing genealogy. We haven't been in contact for years! I'm in the process of putting all my research into Family Tree Maker disk for my three sons.

Looking through the papers you sent me some time ago as I put all the Bradford and Blades info into the program I am so glad that I have the family information for I could not have gotten this far without your help.

Right now I am recording the Blades family and as you know we only get back to Luke Blades in S.C. Abbeville with the 1790 census. If you have anything further back, I would love to have it. I sent an e-mail to your old address and it bounced back. Hope to hear from you. Dorothy L. Reed dtwytex@gmail.com

Hi Dorothy! I am SO glad to hear from you! I lost your e-mail address as well when my computer went bottoms up. John Bradford still is my brick wall as is Luke Blades. I keep trying to locate more on Luke Blades and his wife who I BELIEVE is Catherine Osborn. I have not proven this but think so.
I don't know if you were aware of a Mary Ann Bradford who first married John Russell in Grainger County Tennessee 1800. She made it to Franklin County after her husband died and she married for her second husband a Gant. Recently I visited Franklin County IN and found a Robert Bradford buried in the same cemetery as this Mary Ann Bradford Russell's son. Also in the cemetery in Bartholomew County where our John Bradford is buried is several people by the surname of Gant. So now I am working on these leads.
Do you know anything about John Kellum? I have not heard from him for a long time and I tried to locate a phone number in the white pages on the internet and could not.
My e-mail is cjgennut@yahoo.com. Thanks for getting in touch with me!
Cousin Carol
