My third great-grandmother, Eve SNYDER, was born in PA on 17 Dec 1811 and married Michael HOCKENBARGER in Wayne Co OH on 2 Sep 1830. Eve died near Hudson, Steuben Co IN, on 24 Sep 1886. Many family trees indicate that her parents were Dewalt and Anna Clara (Fetters) SCHNEIDER; however, I am almost certain that this is incorrect. Dewalt and Clara?s daughter was born 17 May 1808 in Milford Twp, Somerset Co, PA, married Samuel Murray, and died 20 Oct 1885. Since Dewalt was a patriot during the Revolutionary War, there is considerable information available on him and his family, including his daughter Eve. Much of this information resides with the Somerset Historical Society. While almost certain that Dewalt and Clara are not Eve?s parents, I have been unable to determine who Eve's parents are.
