Private Thomas Slingo was slightly wounded near Grentlingstead 23/11/1901 - he repatriated to Australia and awarded a pension. he was in the 5th WA mounted infantary Contingentchard was a grocer in Richmond Victoria Australia

Harriet had never married - at the time of her death, she lived with her sister Alice at 6 Dally Street Clifton Hill Victoria Australia
On the census/ electorol roll of 1931 - 1093 Hoddle Street - Harriets occupation is listed as Tailoress - also at this address was Alice - Sales & their niece Hannah (Illegitimate daughter of their sister Sarah) - Milliner

Notes on Alice Slingo
Alice never married, although bans had been read for her marriage to George Vietch Redpath - the marriage never went ahead. George was a soldier - He enlisted in the AIF 08/03/1915 Service No 4470 Embarked for active service 08/05/1915 - he had been wounded in action twice, but lived and was discharged from the AIF 09/05/1919 On the enlistment documents Alice was listed as next of kin (friend), but this had been crossed out and another Redpath had been substituted.
