Edward Smith married Elizabeth Collins (sic) Weardale, Durham,1845 Q3 24 314

Not easy surnames to research but assuming Weardale was where Elizabeth was living before she married I have an Elizabeth Collins (sic) in the UK 1841 census living at "Between East Side Of Market Place and Woscrop, Walsingham, Weardale
JOHNSON Thomas 25 (1816) born Durham
" Jane, 25 (1816) Durham
" Jane, 6 (1835) Durham
" William, 2 (1839) Durham
" Thomas 6 months (1841) Durham
SMITH David, 14 (1827) Durham
Collins (sic) Elizabeth 15(1826) Not born in Durham (In 1841 census they just put Y or N for born in the district yes or no)

Notsure if that is any help to you

Edwin Smith is my great great Grandfather. All we know is he came here to Australia on the ship "William Miles" in 1853 with his mother Elizabeth. He died here in Mirboo North in 1909 and that is all we know of the family. Any new information would be greatly appreciated. We had always heard a story of his father Edward being murdered on a ship on his way to Australia; but weren't sure if it was true or not.
Can't wait to hear from you,

Do you have the deaths for Elizabeth and Robert in Australia ?

by kellieannesmith on 2015-02-20 20:24:07

no we don't. we know of all of Edwin and all of Edwin's 4 children, but we didn't even know that robert existed until I found this page; and as for Elizabeth we don't know what happened to her either.
