Stimpson/Brook New Market England Area

Query by mcmichael0827

I am trying to help my grandmother, the story is my grandmother was born in Eastbourne England. However besides the census records we have no other real information. It states that she was born either June 1938 (no date) or the birthday she has always know which is May 11,1938. She has 3 other siblings which all have their birth certificates and info she is the only one. From what we have gathered we are looking for any information on the following people. Jacqueline A Stimpson born 1938 in Eastbourne England, Peggy (stimpson)brook born November 23,1921 in ely england, Barbara Stimpson (per the cencus might have married Kenneth Dble in 1941)or a Claude Stimpson. my grandmother has contacted people over in england and due to not having any "real" identification or information we are unable to obtain any records i.e a birth certificate. So basically I am in need of some real help here. Any information or suggestions are welcome.

The above site confirms that:
*Jacqueline Stimpson was born 'in the quarter ending' June 1938. May 11 is probably her correct DOB.
*Peggie Stimpson was born 'in the quarter ending' December 1921 in Ely, which spans Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. It also shows she married Fred Brook 'in the quarter ending' March 1939 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
*Barbara L Stimpson married Kenneth W Doble 'in the quarter ending' December 1941 in Huntingdonshire North. There is also a Barbara L Stimpson born 'in the quarter ending' June 1920 in Peterborough, but I don't think this is the Barbara you are looking for as her mother is listed as Marshall, and she did not have a Peggie or Claude.

With Jacqueline born in 1938 and the others born in the 1920's, I don't believe these are her "siblings".

First thank u for that info. I do apologize thought because I didn't really explain in the first posting. Jacqueline is my grandmother and peggy was her mother so I thought. My grandmother just informed me she was told awhile ago that peggys sister Barbara is actually her mother. She didn't think much of it figured after peggy passed she would be able to search for her birth certificate she has never seen in 73yrs but unfortunately there is nothing. So we r trying to find anything to find who's daughter she may be. Claude is peggy and Barbara s brother. Also peggy re married once again to harvey wilt in 46 before they moved to the ua. Sorry this story is really confusing I hope this might help in getting anymore advice or direction

Alright.... with the new info i have found does anyone have any record of a home for unwed mothers in new market england? I found a possible lead that my great grandmother (per one of her marriage certificates) that at the time of marriage she lived at 8th Elizabeth house St Edmunds. I can not find any record what so ever of this place in 1938-1939. Hopefully if anyone knows anything about this place I may contact them to find out some more information. I know its a long shot but with the not so good info I have found I am at a loss and grasping at straws here.
