I've been told somewhere in my family (on the STOUT side) we are Cheyenne or maybe Cherokee. Does anyone know exactly how I would go about finding the connection? The only person in my family who knows for sure where the connection is has died years ago. I appreciate any and all insight given.

I have Potter family that married into the Stout family of Johnson, & Carter County Tn. I know there was at least 1 Potter that married an Cherokee Indian.

Would you happen to know the names of the Stout family they married into? Also - do you know if those particular Stouts originated in New Jersey?
