TAMATERAU (PAKIKAIKUTU) MAORI CEMETERY

Locality: Whangarei District
Location Information: Access to the cemetery is through private property. Tamaterau Maori Cemetery, Maori name Pakikaikutu, is situated about half a kilometre up a track on a hillside over looking the estuary, Whangarei Harbour. Tamaterau is approximately 7 kilometres from the junction of Whangarei Heads Road and Church Street at Onerahi. The track to the cemetery is on the left hand side of the stock pen at Tamaterau.
