John Thomas RAWLINGS was born in 1854 in Marlborough to Benjamin RAWLINGS & Mahala WATTS
- he was a Labourer & Farmer in Mangatainoka, Pahiatua
- he died in Pahiatua Hospital on 4 August 1922 aged 68

Ellen Agbes WENHAM was born in 1856 in Australia to George Simeon WENHAM & Ellen DAY
- she diedin Palmerston North on 4 August 1942 (29 years to the day after John) aged 86

John & Ellen married on 12th April 1878 in Carterton

their children were:
1879-1947 Mary Jane Helen
- mrried Thomas CONWELL in 1905
- they had Thomas John Robert Conwell in 1906, possibly others
- Mary died on 11th December 1947 in Carterton aged 68
- she is buried in PLOT 229, BLOCK SUB 2 at Clareville
- Thomas died 3 August 1930 aged 73 and is in PLOT 249, BLOCK OU NEW SUR at Clareville. Their plots were bought in 1920

- born in Greytown, Wairarapa
- he married Eunice Frances LEE in 1915 in Carterton
- they had a son Herbert Maurice Rawlings (1916-1995)
- Frank was a Printer and worked on various Wairarapa newspapers
- he died in Masterton Hospital 9 April 1944 aged 62

1883-1952 Herbert Henry Rawlings
- married Jennie/Jeanne LAWRENCE
- nothing else known

1885-1966 Mahala Rawlings
- married Robert James GALLON (1880-1960) in 1905
- they had possibly, 4 children
- they both died in Greytown

1891-? Agnes Jessie Rawlings
- she married Henry MOSSOP (1878-1916) in 1911
- she married James NICOL in 1918

John & Ellen Rawlings are buried together in GRAVE 16, PLOT 4, BLOCK 2 of the Mangatainoka Cemetery, Pahiatua
