John Samuel Colhoun (1922-1942) was nephew of Margaret Agnes Cairns (nee Colhoun)1878-1937. His father, Samuel Colhoun, arrived on the 'Gothic' 31 December 1906 with his sister Margaret Cairns and her husband Robert Cairns.
EDWARD COLLINS was born in Patangata on Dec 20th 1861 and died on 6th May 1944 in the Napier hospital. He was the youngest child of Samuel Collins(1813-1877) and his second wife Charlotte nee Harper(1819-1898) and the only one to be born in NZ. His wife was Martha nee Priest(1864-19?) She was the daughter of George and Martha Priest nee Sinclair.
REUBEN COLLINS was born in Morphett Vale, South Australia on Oct 30th 1853, and died of typhoid fever in Bakers Town, Woodville on March 29th 1889. He was Edwards only full brother. REUBEN married Thriza Cook.
EDWARD and REUBENThey had six full sisters: Rebecca Dillon(1844-1919); Sarah Cox(1849-1894); Hannah Lloyd(1851-1938); Eliza McLean(1857-1925); Lucy(circa1855-); Mary Carter(1852-circa 1874); They also had three older half siblings, whose mother was Samuels first wife Hannah Dean((1814-1841). Their names were: William(1834-1896) James(1836-1909); Elizabeth(1839-)
