THOMAS BRERETON OF HARTHILL CHESHIRE

I'm looking for information on the parents of Thomas Brereton, born in 1806 and lived in Harthill Cheshire. He was married to Martha Hughes and had six children that I know of: John bapt. 1827 George bapt. 1828 Mary bapt. 1830 Thomas bapt. 1834 and Edward bapt. 1836 and Samuel b. 1848

George married Sarah James in 1857 in Cheshire and lived in Australia

Mary married Samuel Hughes in 1852 in Cheshire and lived in Australia

Thomas married Ann Brereton in 1857 in Cheshire and lived in Australia

Edward married Frances Hopley in Malpas Cheshire and lived in North Wales

John was still living at home with Thomas and Martha in 1871 and later went to live
at Higher Hall Isycoed with his brother Edward. This is where he died in 1896.

Samuel married Ellen Humpreys in Cheshire in 1871. He emigrated in later life, remarrying
in Canada and spent his last years in America.

The information for the parents of Thomas Brereton, I have his christening date as 21.8.1803 married to Martha Hughes as follows

William Brereton b.1775 Peckforton d.dec.1866 Tattenhall married Malpas 20.7.1800 to Mary Thomlinson b.1769 Broxton(Harthill) d. 19.12.1834 Harthill,
Children John 1801-25.9.1870 (I believe was adopted by them in 1827.)
Thomas 19.7.1803-June 1875
William 10.6.1806-1888
George 11.4.1810-Sept 1893

William was widowed and married his 2nd wife Hannah Warburton 1801-1851 Married 16.1.1839 they had a son Samual Jan. 1841 - d. June 1885 Northwich

my name is anne steel, Thomas and Martha Brereton are my g g grandparents.i found Michael sandford and Jeanie atkins an enormous help with my research. and now have the tree back to 1596.as I,m in Australia I thank them very much,also lynne,from heard/Brereton tree and john mather.there is a lot of us in Victoria originally and from there have moved interstate.but many stayed in Victoria.malmsbury cemetery and pine grove are two of the places they were buried.other breretons are in Echuca swanhill ,Maryborough lockington and Melbourne. well that,s it for now. my e-mail is anne_steel1@bigpond.com.cheers anne
