Thomas Rice HANRIGHT has caused me lots of grief in trying to get...

Journal by Mummabear

Thomas Rice HANRIGHT has caused me lots of grief in trying to get information on his birth and also that of his parents James and Jane HANRIGHT. It is believed that he was born in Ireland in 1822 but I cannot find a birthplace or certificate to confirm that. When he left Lingwick in Canada is also a mystery as is his route and the date of it to New Zealand.

Elizabeth CACUTT has also caused me problems. She was born in 1853 in Auckland New Zealand but I cannot find a record of her birth or who her parents were. Believed to be John and Mary? She was Thomas Rice HANRIGHT's third wife (possibly a bigamous marriage).

Am also tracing the families of Walter YARDLEY who married Frances Louisa JEFFERIES (JEFFREYS). Selina UNDERWOOD and Matthew and Elizabeth HILL also feature in these families.

Yes I have thank you but only get so far as I find the costs a bit prohibitive. Might have to bite the bullet though.

John Cacutt died on the 13 August 1894, he was a farmer at Waipuku and his wife was Mary. He was born Samuel John CACUTT about 1824.

Thank you for that information.Do you have any other details on the family eg did Elizabeth have any siblings? I would be interested in obtaining copies of any certificates if I could. I think Elixabeth's middle name was Sarah.

I don't have anything at all. I just picked up the above information when searching for other things. I just did a search of
1915/5620 Cacutt Mary 87Y
1894/4096 Cacutt Samuel John 70Y
The curious thing is that these appear to be the only Cacutt's on record in NZ. However there are several CALCUTT's.
Here is the NZ BD&M website;
Also perhaps a search of the NZ National Library and old newspapers papers will reveal something;
