I am working on a family tree for my friend, Elizabeth Bolton Browning. I have hit a brick wall with her great grandfather,William Henry Browning ( 31 May 1831,England). He immigrated to the US in 1851 according to the 1910 Federal Census. He married Elizabeth Bolton sometime aroud 1860-1861. He arrived in Chicago,Illinois in 1879 ( from son ,Thomas Walter Browning obituary in the Chicago papers in 1913. Elizabeth Bolton Browning ( 1843-1917 ) & William Henry Browning had Thomas Walter Browning ( 1866-1913 ),James Bolton Browning 1869-1870 ), William Mowbry Browning ( 1870-1954 ), Nelle Kingston Browning ( 1877-1950 ),Ralh Ruston Browning,Sr. ( 1883-1963 ).Ralph Rushton Browning was my Elizabeth's grandfather. William Henry's death certificate gives a William Browning as his father & Adelaide Kinston as his mother. I have no clue as to what part of England he was born. I have nothing on his parents,no dates or locations. Can someone out there help ?
